The Saigon Morin has had a colourful history since opening in 1901 as the Grand Hotel Bogaert. Charlie Chaplin spent his honeymoon with Paulette Goddard here during its glory years. In autumn 1957 the hotel was used as the home of Hue University. After being recaptured by the Americans, the Diem government took control of it in just under 1 month and it became the science college til 1998. November 1997 saw it restored to its original purpose as a leading hotel in Hue. Restaurants include the Morin Restaurant which serves an international menu including Vietnamese specialities, a unique US$1 restaurant where all the dishes are just $1 each! The Royal Cuisine Restaurant is designed in a traditional royal style where royal feast banquets and traditional music can be enjoyed. There’s also a garden bar, pool side bar, billards and pool for your enjoyment. Rooms are large, tastefully decorated and come with free ADSL internet connection if you bring your own laptop.
