Vietnam has a good range of hotels from backpackers rooms through to 5 star hotels and resorts.
Tourism is still relatively new in this corner of the world so hotels come in all sorts of shapes and forms. There are the old Colonial French Indo-China style hotels where stepping into these hotels is like stepping back in time. A good example of this is the Majestic Hotel
There are the ugly communist inspired hotels from the 80’s when Vietnam catered to the Russian tourism market. We’re not too keen to sell these!
Vietnam also has beach resorts, towering hotels in Saigon and lots of small hotels all over the place.
The very best, according to the Conde Nast Traveller Gold List 2005 is the Ana Mandara Resort (pictured on right or below) in Nha Trang followed by the Sofitel Metropole in Hanoi.
As tourism develops there will be a lot more choices when it comes to accommodation, but as it is now, Vietnam is a great place to visit.
